Our history begins with Elisa Bartoli, Luigi Marcolini’s wife, who opened in Sant’Angelo in Lizzola, in 1896, an oil mill renovating an old convent.
During the following years the business was carried on by her children and grandchildren until 1957 when the oil mill was rented out.
It was only in 1988 that Andrea Marcolini decided to run again the family business conducting the old mill for 11 years, until 1999.
It was in the year 1999 that, looking to old tradition, but also to innovation, the decision to leave the old mill and open a new one, with a modern structure and technologies in Villa Betti di Monteciccardo, was taken.
The new building, immersed in the green of Marche’s countryside, is the perfect location for events, ceremonies and company meetings.
Marcolini’s Oil Mill Today
Oil is an ancient product but, to guarantee the quality, technologies must provide a rationality in the whole production process.
The modern installation of Rapanelli’s company, all in stainless steel, is able to work 10/11 tons/hour and allows to press the olives in the shortest possible time from the harvest.
A similar installation, that we call “continuous cycle”, permits to work the olives at room temperature with a cold extraction.
A modern machinery that allows to obtain a premium quality product based on few key requirements:
- Prompt milling after few hours from the harvest
- Olives’ defoliation and washing before the milling
- Olive paste and oil have just stainless steel contact
- Total hygiene of machinery and spaces
- Low temperature process
